This might have been before in the forum, but I cant locate it, so here goes.

When MO performed the Millennium Bell with thousands spectators and transmitting to tv at New Years Eve, did his album sales rise much shortly after that, anyone knows?
The same with his rather big tours or performances e.g. Tubular Bells II?

I´m just wondering when the cd sale is going down and nobody is doing something online with his website, maybe MO could still cash in at concerts (if he bothered)?

I'm not sure about MB, but I do know that the TBII album was a big hit here in Italy after people saw the Edimburgh performance on TV. It put MO back on the map. :)

Well not touring didn't harm sales of the first 3 albums at all. It's an expected and established part of the industry to tour in support of a new album.Mike himself did this from Platinum up to Discovery which certainly raised his profile and,in all likelehood, sales. After that he didn't really do too much touring till TBII which was supported by a tour.
When i saw him in 98 it was in support of Guitars.
While i'd dearly love to see him live again i seriously doubt he'd be that bothered. After all he certainly doesn't need the money and he'd have to do it for the love of it.Mind you the guy who walked on stage at the NEC and just stood at the front of the stage lapping up the applause looked very much like a man who loved what he was doing from where i was stood.

I'd say in the past yes,but nowadays with all that fuss regarding illegal downloads, concerts are now important for artists to keep them on the spotlight and help them to sell more CDs and legal downloads.

Things have changed a lot!

Mike has hinted that he has a few projects he is working on, maybe small, intimate venues for a concert in the uk. he certainly hasnt ruled out performing again, and is well rested and eager to continue producing, watch this space, deb

I got to see Mike live @ NNOTP 2006 in Germany, but I wish I had the chance to attend a proper MO concert in the future,a 2-hour gig would be perfect for me.The more MO concerts I attend, the better

We only depend on Mike for that!
Fingers crossed!

I'm with you there. He played just about everything you could hope to hear at the NEC gig i attended, except TB.Still a fine gig with a kick ass band though.I could have cried when he said "We're going to play a peice of music i wrote in 1975....."
More please Mike.
