No - unfortunately I missed it.

If anyone has a recording, I'd be willing to host it should anyone have recorded it :)

Yes, answered my question too.

But I have some mixed feelings about the music.

Yes I heard the show, I think TB2003 will sound better after many listens, but I agree Blue Dolphin, initially it sounds dissapointing here and there.

In the chat forum I asked Mike if he wanted to play a Telepathy game and he said yes, and then he did'nt respond for ages and people were saying where's Mike? has he gone to the toilet or something?  I think he was trying to concentrate on the telepathy.

I've never seen so many responses, it was mind boggling :)

Good "Latin" and "Finale" pieces from TB 2003. Glad to hear the Telecaster in tune...and the '2 distorted guitar' showed that quite well!

I think I´ll love the album...just hope to buy here in Brazil in time for my birthday!

I was there too and the only thing Mike said in answer to one of my posts was 'Shut up,Tim' - i'm not complaining as I got a response and i'm deeply honoured ;-)

Unfortunately my line got cut off just after the playing of 'Latin' so I missed the Finale. Can't wait to download the full program if anyone has recored it. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!
The new version sound crystal clear and fresh. It will nedd a few plays just to detach it in my mind from the old version so I can listen to it in an unbiased way though

Friend of mine recorded the audio. I have the entire interview including the 2 sound clips played. Finale is excellent!

"that's it" ? when the hell to you hear this ??? I'd have to listen to this with headphones...

"plus... tubular bells"

Great. Happy. Heaven.

I don't feel disapointed at all with any part of the excerpts we have here, I just can't wait...

The ftp site given by our german friend doesn't seem to work any more, there were the interview (given here again) + "the single" (??) on it, does anybody got it elsewhere and give the link please ?

Thanks for that - excellent to listen to.

One small gripe: They've put copy protection on it :(

I started getting into MO when I started downloading his stuff of the net. Shortly after a friend found a CD of 9 of his albums in MP3. I now have over half of the back catalogue (so I can listen to better quality MP3's) - I think the record company have given him a very biased view. Most downloads are of chart stuff. I certainly don't download albums (as a recent study shows - most downloaders buy the albums).

Wow! Any doubts I had that I wouldn't like the new version are now totally gone! Superb stuff.

Copy protection? Plug a CD player into your line ins and record the audio. You can't copy protect that.

Lets face it - if you want this album, you want the glossy packaging with that bell on it - would you really settle for anything other than the CD? I certainly wouldn't!

A week to go! Come on!

Ohh! New sound clips. Fantastic! Now I'll just wait until the file downloads. It's a rather large file...   :p

OK, here it is! I'll focus on the extracts from the album. The 'Latin' extract is quite nice, very natural sounding, but with a few guitars added that weren't there before. Because I love that piece so much from the original, it isn't my favourite, but it's quite nice.

Now, for the bells! I'm sure you'll all be glad to know there is no synth-bass in sight! I'm actually surprised at how much like the original bassline it sounds. All the instruments sound good, but I've never heard a bass guitar sounding like that before. Interesting... The bells sound good as well, more of a climax than the original. Now, John Cleese. I suppose many people loved Viv Stanshall's pompous voice over, so I'm predicting opposition to John Cleese's VO. Its certainly interesting... :p

Overall, anyone who worried that this would be an artificial shadow it its former self shoudn't worry.

Raven: the guitars on 'Latin' are not really 'added'. They were in the original version, but maybe a bit too low in the mix to be really heard. :) Their volume was raised a bit in the TB version found on Boxed, so if you got that, check it out. ;)

I do think its a bit of a shdow of its former self but I don't think its at all bad. I agree completely with the DarkStar reviews, it's good and interesting to hear it played differently but boy does it lack the power of the original. Again it's nice to hear the ending sounding slightly more dynamic but Cleese's voice is far to loud in the mix and bordering on just being outright naff. One point though, the Reed and Pipe Organ sounds like some cheap synth. Mike's playing is superb however, love the little echo on 'Double Speed Guitar' wonderfull touch, and as was said above the vibrato on the 'Bass Guitar' is also lovely, sounds like a real bass too. So why couldn't the intro bass sound be like this?????

I also love that sound of the Double Speed Guitar! I wonder if this is the Telecaster or just his PRS??

By the way, I hear something on the interview in the background (at about 16:10 min on the mp3)... is this John Cleese or the DJ's?

just listened to the interview (thanks for recording and uploading it, Musically Inspired) and i can say i've really enjoyed latin (i came out in goose pimples that is the best proof for it) the spanish guitar sounds lovely and that falling along the cascade is still there leading again to the spanish guitar, round and sweet...  there's a lot going there.

for the finale... well, the bass and the reed and pipe organ will take me some time to get used... but in general, it's not bad at all, i looove the two slightly distorted guitars... yeah he's there... with the bells in tune :)
i think now i'll stop listening to the original until i got tb 2003, i think i can love it, though i'll miss the moderate mc viv stanshall isn't here anymore...
it will be almost unavoidable to compare it with the old one, but i'll try to listen to it as a new work, i'll try to feel it more than to think and compare.

ps. it was not pleasant at all to hear that question about the add... it has nothing to do with his life now and it has nothing to do with his music, which is the real important thing to talk about... journalists, let it rest there, in the past. he's human and has got right to do what he wants to and also to be wrong some time... in case this could be considered a mistake... and he's got perfect right to forget it as it's his wish.

i wish him all the best luck for the release of tubular bells 2003

Just like to clear up that I didn't record the interview. I wasn't even there :). OldfieldVR recorded it and sent it to me via MSN. And yes Latin is beautiful!
