These days, whenever I don't have access to Mike's music I feel withdrawal symptoms: irritability, impatience, and involuntary twitching. I try to keep my iPod with me as much as possible, so that helps when I need a fix. I've been deleting a lot of other artists from my iPod to accommodate my latest MO cd acquisitions. My desktop wallpaper is of Mike, but what I really want is a wall poster - don't know where to get one, though. Oh, and I am constantly humming tunes - today, it happened to be "Lakme", but more often it's something from Ommadawn or Five Miles Out.

Hello Sweatpea, (shouldn't it be SweetPea?)

It is sooo cold here at the moment so I have been reading Mikes autobiography in bed. When I was reading reasonable detailed explainations of his first few albums, I struggled to think of the spefic section he spoke about even though I have had these albums for 30 years and listen to them often. I've spoken before about my annoyance at my laziness in this regard. I really wanted to play the albums while I was reading the book, but I read most of it on the weekend while my other half was at home and would have objected. But I can't wait to read it all again and this time have each album playing in the background. Lets see, did it take me 25 hours to read the book. It was way too short by the way.

I would love to be able to play Mike in the car but I am a very nervous driver so the feelings of tension would spoil the exp for me I think. But I would love to get a small personal ipod or something and lay in a park one day looking up at the sky with mmmm, I think Ommadawn blaring in my ears.

I hate getting up early. I didn't even realise there were two 6 o'clocks in one day!

*swings shiny object in front of TubularBelle* There is no typo... there is no typo... Actually I had a brain-blip while creating my account. I can spell, really. :D

I really enjoyed the autobiography, and I've been rereading bits and pieces. The iPod comes in handy for reading in bed. I didn't care for the earphones that were included, however, since they tend to have a mind of their own. So I bought a set of big honkin' headphones that stay put. The downside is that they aren't very comfy to fall asleep in.

addiction - any addiction is unhealthy...and when people gets in totally frenzy (usually with music and filmstars)  it´s not good and I´m sure the stars don´t want that fixation on them....Mike Oldfield sure is hell don´t...    :/

Errr... who said I was naked??  :O

I may be mistaken, but I think you took my post more seriously than it was intended, onion. No, my addiction doesn't stop me from having a life. I meant my initial post to be lighthearted (the 'involuntary twitching' is actually due to annoying coworkers :p) Apologies if I've scared anyone!

If I made a joke here, I'd probably be banned. I'll keep quiet, I swear.

Hoo boy.

I, fortunately, don't have any addictions for musicians or albums or what. I do have small, sudden obsessions, which happen as my interest on artists change rather often, and sometimes certain music sticks to my brain and refuses to leave. Humming and whistling and whatnot is, to me, commonplace (I try not to do it when I'm with other people, as I get extremely annoyed when some people do it close to me - though it's not intentional).

I find I'm utterly unable to listen to music during work, as people are constantly requesting me and calling me, and if I'm listening to music and unable to get completely immersed in it, I'd rather not listen to any music. It has to be me, the task and the music - and in my workplace, that's an impossible scenario. Sad. Autechre is very, very, very good working music.

I've got 3 posters of Mike in my room: one from the Millennum Bell concert, one from Voyager and another from the Crises tour. The Millennum one I've got from Dark Star, the one from Voyager and Crises were gifts from fellow MO fans(one from Spain and other from Brazil, where I live).
One of them you can see  here.

But regarding to the music,I listen whenever I feel I need to.I do listen to lots and lots of music besides Mike, but there are some moments in my life that only his music can express exactly what I'm thinking or I wanna hear at that particular moment. But there are moments that I don't wanna hear MO at all!

I do have a life besides being a MO fan, sure.
