The singer on the english version is David Bedford, who you might know as arranger of the orchestral tubular bells/hergest ridge (and a lot of other works of Mike's involving orchestras and choirs)...If I remember rightly, he's the other voice on 'speak'...
I don't remember who does the german one, but I have a feeling it was someone connected with Tangerine Dream.
They were both just released as singles. Lol Coxhill, saxaphone player from 'The Whole World', Kevin Ayers' band who Mike played bass and guitar with and David Bedford played keyboards with, recorded a version of Don Alfonso for one of his solo albums (in fact, he recorded his version before Mike did).
The songs were recorded some time in the early - mid 70s...around 1975, I think, but I'm not sure.
