A couple of times a week I keep(more like cherish every moment), my girlfreind's Shit-Zoo/Maltese puppy.  My right hand is bleeding as we speak. BTW, what gives with using your own avatar? I tried once, could not upload a picture, was asked for something I knew not how to give. Eddy's face was what I wanted. Well anyway, I used to live this semi-retired life of working one 44 hour shift on weekends, having all week off, which allowed me to enjoy his puppyhood for a few months(and play with synths and gits) . Then I added a 2nd graveyard shift job which allowed me to continually harrass you tubular and amarokian folx every weeknight. Here's my point.....do you have one Jim, if so get to it.......Eddy goes to sleep when I play MO. Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn, Discovery, many more.....he sleeps. His odds-on favorites are the Stones, Pat Metheny Group and Steve Hackett(no Genesis, solo only). I can find no reason for this anomaly since Steve Hackett is the artist I consider closest to MO. British art rock, same kinda deal, very arty, same heyday, maybe more hyper. Which leads me to a question, MO and Phil Collins have worked together, why not this guy? Social skills? Hackett made freinds with Steve Howe once, another competitor in the art-rock world of the same era. They seemed to enjoy the same playground without hassles. Just something that's nagged at me for a number of years....I was thinking that Light+Shade was kinda weak as was Hackett's last album, Wild Orchids(that I know of), so why not get these two similar but kinda different british art-rock heroes together and see what happens? But Anyway, please get back to me on the avatar thing.
Jim

Hope this helps, Jim. I'm not sure how far you got, so if I'm going over familiar ground, just think of it as info for the next person.

On the 'avatar options' control page, there's a box near the bottom to paste the URL for the image you want to use. This image must be uploaded somewhere on the net - preferably (generably speaking - I'm not sure if TubularBoard has guidelines for this) on your own space or an image hosting site. For example, the URL for my image is: http://ommadawn.homestead.com/files/roseavb.jpg

There are small boxes for dimensions beneath that. You can find the width and height of an image by right clicking on it and selecting 'properties'. For example, my image is 64x64 (I made it to fit the max width allowed here). Click 'add my own images as my avatar'. I think that should do it.

Larger images can be used, just enter dimensions that fall within the maximums allowed - 64 pixels wide x 128 pixels high - but as a result, the image may appear squished and distorted as an avatar. Very large images are discouraged, though, because they can cause loading problems for viewers since the actual size of the file gets loaded even though it only displays as a small avatar. You can see the actual size of an image by right clicking on it and selecting 'view image'.

Quote (Scatterplot @ Mar. 06 2008, 13:52)

Maybe this is actually a sign that he likes the music? I seem to recall Ebony once praising the qualities of a good sleep-inducing album, and I often turn to MO music for relaxation. If, however, Eddy's slumbers are punctuated with twitching and yipping, he may have some serious anti-MO issues.

And if that's Eddy in your new av, Scatterplot, no wonder you "cherish every moment" with him. At first, I thought I detected a bit of sarcasm in your comments, but surely that's not possible with such an adorable puppy?? I can picture it now, blood spraying as the little sweetie affectionately gnaws on your flesh, and after a quick bandaging (and possibly tourniquet-ing), you give him a big hug cooing 'Awww... come 'ere! I just can't stay mad at you!'

Yeah, I'm pretty scabbed up. But he's worn down now. We have this thing in Austin called South by Southwest, bands converging on the city once a year from everywhere to get noticed. I took Eddy down to Auditorium shores(concerts by a river) 2 days in a row to listen to bands. Never seen him so happy.
