This BBC news article describes a new instument which sounds to me like it would be just the sort of thing Mike would go for. "the most expressive musical instrument ever made"????

There's a youtube promo clip and a few other youtube clips which do sound sorta interesting I guess. Though I don't have £4k spare at the moment to try it myself!

Whenever MO surfaces from the fogs in the Bermuda Triangle or coming out behind the moon or wherever he is at this present stage, he's gonna buy this toy - just for it's presets..

Oh shit...I smell a Light & Shade part deux coming out in the future..
oh well...I had a nice life - time to jump off a cliff    :D

Looks like a very fancy MIDI'ed instrument with a breath controller built in, plus drum pads. Each feature seperately assigned to a different MIDI channel. Pretty cool tho. Light+Shade? Come on! If MO ever surfaces just to throw together another looped L+S album, I'm done. Even another classical effort would top that, but still would not get my much needed ya-ya's out. I think he needs to "sit in" with a band. No more one-man efforts. Reunite with some old friends and write the whole thing "committee style" like Genesis did.

Whats great about that toy??? Is only a midi instrument. -a keyboard with a breath controller ... nothing else. All you hear are sample sounds from a software. The Lights of  the keys reminds me of guitar hero- the most stupid stuff I ever saw.
