OK! I think i know what you mean, but ill tell you a little bit about the guitar itself.
(great place to ask about electric guitars by the way, there are plenty of people here who know what they are talking about!
The electric guitar was/ Is a big influence on the world of music, and its versatility is one of the meain reasons for this!
Those magnets you see are called "Pickups" Pickups work on the premice of the metal strings vibrating above them. (So once you plug it into an amp, it will amplify the sensitiity of the magnets, to thus produce a sound!
However, with cheaper guitars, you can sometimes have problems with "Feedback". This is when the sound coming out of the amplifier, affects the sound going into the pickup, (this is called the "microphonic phemomenon", as far as im told)
You will also notice if your guitar has a "single coil" pickup or a "Humbucker" pickup. This can vary depeinding on the sound you want to produce.. ill link to some photos of each so you can determine which one you have on your guitar, and which one is which!
Humbucker Pickups
Single coil Pickups
The "Humbucker" is basically two single coils attached together, (theres more detail, but i wont go into it). This is used to cancel "Hum" when heavier distortion is used. It also creates a thicker sound.
OOOOpppppsss im going to have to go for a bit now.. as im in school, and my class is ending!!
Ill post more info later, and if you want some info on playing styles too, ill see what i can find!
