Hi guys, I'm a newbie here and still found a lot of great infos and news...

Just wanted to start my stay here with this new song that I composed under the influence of our amazing artist Mike...

I've ever loved his instrumentals so I decided to make this 18 minutes long song, all by myself.
Yes, 18 minutes long... 6 months of work and tons of fun!
Hope you will have the patience and maybe you like "Escape to Jupiter":

Bravo Bravo !!!  ;) I like it very very much , it's really well produced ! ..maybe maybe only a little more reverb on the piano for the intro but it's nice anyway ! very "airy" track !!!

Grazie mille !  ;)

By Jove, that's a fine track. I particularly liked the final minutes, and the melody around 7'30".

Hi,

I agree with the comment about the reverb on the piano at the start, it needs a bit more to fit in with the other 'reverb heavy' instruments.

Anyway, I really like it so far (just a few minutes in). Will pop back and comment when I've fully listened and digested... but that will probably be later in the week (sorry!;).

Cheers,
Terry.

Btw, are you the Corrado Rossi that was on Chillout World? If so... HI!

Great song, the beginning sounds like a cross between Amarok and Tres Lunas to me. You should be one of today's best selling musicians! How did you make it? What software have you used?

I could hear a bit of "Music from the Balcony" ambience in places...

Hey guys, thanks so much for your response: didn't think to receive such a quick and interesting comments... :)

- The reverb on the Piano? Will think about that, even if I like this "presence" of the Piano as lead instrument; but probably with a bit of more reverb it could sound more natural...

- @Ginger: sure, it's me! It has been a great time... maybe do you know some news about the site and Kopi?

- @HR: I used Cubase with Hypersonic2, EW Symphonic Orchestra Gold, NI Atmosphere, Stylus RMX and The Grand2 (now I have EW Pianos, but probably I will keep The Grand2 for this kind of song)

And guys what do you think of the last section with that particular rhythmical structure (8/4-8/4-8/4-7/4)?

Thanks again to everyone!

I've already commented that that was one of my favourite parts.  :)

Wow! A truly exceptional piece of music... so many changes of direction which is very Mike Oldfield in it's feel.

Glad I took the time to listen all the way through. I can tell it's been a labour of love this composition and great finale'. Do I detect some tubular bells at the end!!??

Quietman's response made me go back and listen to this again as I realised I'd only listened to it the once.

It really is a masterpiece. Really good job Corrado.

As for the 'missing beat' time signatures... I love bits of music that pull it off without sounding weird although I find them hard to write. I did a 14/16 piece once, and a 5/4 bit... really hard to program into the sequencer!!!

Your orchestration around the 5:40 mark is excellent too.

As for Kopi and the ChilloutWorld site, I've got no idea what happened... the site started to be used a lot by people who were quite selfish and a large number of spammers appeared too. Nobody seemed to be able to keep on top of the spammers and I eventually just gave up and stopped visiting :(
It's a shame because it really was a good site for instrumental musicians.

Cheers,
Terry.
