I was playing Tr3s Lunas today, after all these years, and I found another way to escape the barriers. Here's what I did:
a) Enter the game as usual and visit the Origin.
b) Get some golden rocks from the golden tree to the right of the Origin.
c) Fire a golden rock at the pink boulder to open the rings game.
d) Find the scorpion and touch it; this takes you to the erupting volcano and burning cactus.
e) When you arrive at the burning cactus, press 3 for maximum speed.
e) Stand still and fire a snowball at the Origin to enter the normal game world.
f) Now, fire a barrage of snowballs at the pink boulder to the left of the Origin.
g) As soon as you've fired the snowballs, turn around and fly over the ocean towards Turtle Island.
f) You're now free to explore beyond the barriers. Have fun. 
In this world, the ocean is covered in multi-coloured mists and you can hear ocean waves on the beach. Tres cool!
