It's because Virgin have discontinued it, so people with remaining stock are jacking the prices up to whatever they think they can get for it. The same is likely to happen to everything from Mike's Virgin back catalogue, unfortunately.
It's going to be a while before Universal gets around to re-releasing it. I don't know what their plans are for the DVD; I know that for the album, they hope to do something a little bit more interesting than just a straight re-release (those plans might involve the video too, I don't know yet).
