Hi everyone.

Its a while since i have posted a new topic. Just wondered who (if anyone) is on the facebook tubular.net? The girls at work decided to set me up on facebook to drag me into the 21st centuary. Noticed the tubular.net site and wondered whos on etc....

For the record my real name is Paul Ratcliffe (Leeds) hence  Ratty. So if anyone happens to be on facebook you are more than welcome to add me to your Mike Oldfield / Tubular.Net friends.

I've joined a few of these   profile sites, through  folks on here, Bebo, Frappr, Lookitsme , but I've forgotton my passwords, I don't really keep up with them, I find it's enough keeping up with Myspace  :O .

I did have a look at myface, er sorry I mean Facebook, but it would appear I've got to register before I can see the profiles on there , and that put me off.

However by contribiting to discussion forums and visiting profile sites I've made new friends both cyber and in the real world, and cyberspace was where I first met my wonderful  boyfriend
 :)  :D .

Feel free to join me on Myspace if you so wish , my profile on there is
www.myspace.com/poppydanderfluff
www.myspace.com/poppydanderfluff

You'll probably see I've two profiles one as Moonchildhippy, but I keep that mainly for prosterity, as I did have some jealous bitchy woman try and stir up crap on there, so I decided that I would NOT be silenced and bullied off of the board, so I set up my Poppy profile.

One of my Second Life avatars has a facebook page in conjunction with a sim, but the human behind the avi is facebookless. On my "to do" list, though....

There are many facebook groups around Mike's work, some with just a few members, some with a lot. "Ommadawn Appreciation group", 2 just saying "Mike Oldfield" under music (one folk, one rock), my own MVR group.

It seems that Tub.net has the largest membership though, another proof that this is the place to be if you're an Oldfiled fan!

Although I spend more time on imeem, I've recently been doing facebook to keep in touch with a relative, so I figured now would be a good time to join the Tubular group. It's nice to see so many fans, there. I think it's over 2000, now.

That's incredible, really. In November, tubular.net will be 9 years old, and there are now over 2700 members. In a few short months, there are over 2000 on facebook! While there is some obvious overlap, there must be a goodly number of folks unique to facebook??

Makes the mind boggle over how pervasive networks like facebook are. I do wonder if any of our newer members discovered us through the facebook group.
