For anyone interested, and in light of the recent Portsmouth FC success, there is a FACEBOOK campaign to get the tune 'Portsmouth' to number 1:

Yeah why not!I've been following the fortunes of Portmouth FC on the local news.I am not a fan of football at all but can't help but have a soft spot for them cos it's in a part of the country i love (the South is England as far as i'm concerned ;) )and of course the fact that they play Portsmouth before every home match. They've had a really crappy time of it financially and are only just keeping their heads above water.I really hope they win the FA cup.

It would be very cool to hear this joyful tune being played on UK radio stations in this depressing election month. Plus portsmouth FC (although I'm not a fan) deserve recognition after their team has been so badly mis-managed.

But I doubt Mike will offer to donate any of the proceeds to them!

If it was to get stuck on the front page of Tubular.net, it might get a lot of Oldfield fans buying it, not just Pompy fans and people surfing the forum.

Via facebook, the organiser of this campaign posted that their local radio station had interviewed Mike and he'd sent a message to the Portsmouth team.

Has anyone managed to find a recording of that interview?
