Not sure if this has been done before? Was chatting with friends and we got onto famous people we had met or would like to meet? I thought it would be quite a good topic for Tubular.net.

The two who stand out for me who i have met were my all time legend Billy Bremner (Famous Leeds United player) Billy was a guest of honour for the Sunshine Club charity in Leeds, i was eight at the time and struggling to climb onto a fairground ride. This gentleman helped me and it turned out to be none other than my idol Billy Bremner, i can remember that day as if it was yesterday!!

The other memorable meeting was with Tony Blair PM. He came to visit our Sure Start project in inner city Leeds. He was a decent bloke but took some stick from local residents re housing and crime.

Who would i most like to meet? Well, apart from MO i would loved to have lived in Paris when the impressionist movement was been established and been around the likes of Renoir, Degas, Cezanne and Sisley, especially when they exhibited at the Salon des Refusés. Its just a particular period in history i have always been fascinated by.

AS regards people I've met weird I've had this comversation with my Mum earlier on today. I know I've met Glenda Jackson and John Craven off BBC Nerwsround in the '70's and early '80's, currently  on Countryfile).  I also met the stage cast of 'Allo 'Allo, I used to be nuts on that some 22 years ago.
I guess other people I've met have been from the world of music,  the NWOBHM band Saxon, The Black Crowes, at a record signing, Liondisfarne after a concert, Neil Murray from Whitesnake, Black Sabbath and The Brian May Band and also Nicko McBrain and Dave Murray from Iron Maiden     :)  :D .

Who I'd like to meet??? :/ , well obviously Mike of course. I do feel that his imprint has been left at The Beacon and on Hergest Ridge, yes a bit new agey maybe, but I feel I'd love to meet him in real life.  I'd also love to meet the surviving members of Queen. I know my boyfriend met John Deacon at a pub in Leicestershire, (John was born there) and what a great guy he is, doesn't have his head up his arse unlike some rock stars.  I'd also love to meet Brian Jones, Syd Barrett, George Harrison and Freddie Mercury, all musical geniuses, now unfortunately in the spirit world.   Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Fred Dibnah, I guess my Dad is chatting on a cloud with them. Also Winston Churchill , especially as he suffered from depression, but he got the country through WW2.Stan Laurel, comic genious I love old Laurel and Hardy films.   I'd love to meet John Lennon and Bob Marley, again great musicians and also peace lovers.  I did apply for ticketsto see Top Gear, but it's a 4 year wait apparently, I love TG and the presenters, Richard Hammond is sexy in a short kind of way, it's just I prefer taller men :D  :)

My daughter and I saw Maddy Prior at one of the theatres in Hampshire.  Maddy came up to talk to my daughter about her dancing to the music. It was so funny.

A few years before that, myself and a few other actors/actresses met Prince Charles at a reception.  The Royal Shakespeare Company were putting Twelve Night on for him at the Theatre Royal.  He asked me a question about the show, and for the first time I was completely dumbstruck, and I felt my face go so red, someone had to answer fo me.

That's one of the delights about Maddy Prior - she must surely be one of the most approachable performing artists, and in fact she seems to revel in meeting members of her audiences. I've been to maybe two dozen Steeleye Span concerts over the years (as well as quite a few solo shows she's done), and can't remember a single occasion where she didn't make a point of mingling to chat and sign autographs afterwards (and latterly, to sell raffle tickets for charity).

Sounds like you had a lovely time. Was she impressed by your daughter's dancing?

Hi Alan D. Yes she was, but I think it was because, some people from the audience, came up to my daughter after the show, and said they saw a 'budding Maddy Prior.'
Maddy Prior is naturally sociable isn't she, it was a suprise when she came up to us.
The only thing was, I didn't think it quite worked with Maddy singing and then doing some kind of movement piece.  The only way you can get away with it, is if you are a dancer doing a movement piece and then some kind of short sentence recital, like these Contemporary Modern dancers.

Well, comedians Bill Bailey and Dave Gorman would be high on my list. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life than when I watched their stand-ups.

I'd also like to meet Ken Doherty, John Higgins and/or Steve Davis (all of snooker fame). I came into close contact with Ken once because, shortly before he had to go to a snooker match at the Crucible, he came to my church. I think he made it to the final that year too, but he lost 16-18.

Of course, I'd also love to meet Mike Oldfield, and as for other musicians, Jarvis Cocker, Roger Taylor, Brian May, Cliff Richard and Paul McCartney rate highly on my list!

Oh I forgot to mention I met Steve Knightley and Phil Beer , that's to say Show Of Hands after a gig in Coventry.

Oh btw from my post above it sound's like John Deacon was born in the pub, what I meant to say John was born in Oadby in Leceistershire.

I spent 20 years working for a rock and roll radio station.  I met and spent time with many, many actors, musicians and other entertainers over the years.   Only a few left lasting impressions.  A handful were as wonderful as I thought they might be.  Most were just normal people though.  Unfortuntely there were those I remember for all the wrong reasons.  A few standouts:  Genuinely friendly and kind - Richie Sambora, Peter Frampton; Alice Cooper; Rude - Kiss, Megadeth; Disappointing - David Bowie.

I once met classical flute player Severino Gazzelloni, backstage after a show. I was just a 10-year-old kid, he shook my hand and signed me an autograph. He was a very, very nice man.

Who would I love to meet? Oh, there are literally thousands. But if I am to limit myself to what's passing through my mind right now... well, I'd love to have a time machine (and maybe also an access-all-areas pass would be useful...) to travel back to 1978 and see Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta on the set of one of Grease's final scenes, "You're the one that I want". I'm pretty sure they had a whole lot of fun on that set. :)

On the 18th of November last year,  I saw Joan Jett in the reception of the Wembley Plaza Hilton London, she was checking out. I walked over to her placed  my hand's at the top of her arm's just below her shoulder's, then I leant  forward and  kissed her on both cheek's and told her how lovely she looked in real life close up. Because it is true she does.

I'm not going to start going into famous people I've met, but I would say that I'd wouldn't mind never meeting Mike in person. That might seem odd but all I'd really have to say is "Thanks" and after that it might just be a bit awkward. Plus I get the impression that Mike may not be wholly comfortable with fans...
