It's been a while since I started a topic. I'm in a situation where I can chill out today. I was thinking about several album covers I would love to have as oil paintings on my new walls. In the past a lot were agreed as cool such as Steely Dan-The Royal Scam. Very nice. My fav. of all time is the cover of Renaissance Novella. It is so tastefull. It looks like a nun(I think...) reading a book to 2 children. If I could commission a painter to re-create the painting with no Renaissance logo or letters, I would love that painting on my wall. That would be my number one. What are your fav. album covers as far as great art?
Jim

Off the top of my head:

Watershed & Blackwater Park by Opeth
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
The Last Bright Light by Mostly Autumn
Rapid Eye Movement by Riverside

And I think the Crack the Skye (by Mastodon) artwork is kinda cool, too.

This cover and inner case inspired me to buy an artist's pen.

Oh, I forgot about that! Another of my favorites, as are Foxtrot and Wind & Wuthering.

I really like Roger Dean covers, though they may be a bit old fashioned by now.  From Mike I love the cover for Platinum.

Mike's Crises and Tr3s Lunas, All the Pink Floyd covers up to and including Dark Side of the Moon except Piper and the non-Australian Relics. The cover below, from Black Sabbath's Technical Ecstasy, is one of the most imaginative I've ever seen:

Actually it was the cover of Trick that got me to buy my first Genesis album. I'd heard of them before but forgot them, even saw Gabriel and co. on the much downloaded 1973(midnight special?) appearance the night it aired, Musical Box and all. It might have been "in concert". But the same shopping incident also discovered Renaissance(Sheherazade). 2 bands in one day, based on cool LP covers(the criteria used for chosing both) leading to a lifetime of enjoyment. Some shopping day! But I do love Trick's cover. So, so cool.....I'm gonna try and crack this Windows Vista glitch/bitch and get a pic up. So easy it was with my previous XP PC.

I don't think my pic problem is my PC. It's this site. I used to go to Amazon.com and pull up a picture. Then "copy image location". Then return to tube-net, click add reply, click image. It worked perfectly 100's of times as seen from previous posts. Now I click image, then get "error, you must enter a URL".
Novella is pretty tho. Annie got old(so did I). That's life. All good things....

Scatterplot, I get the same error message, but there's a way around it. Are you using Internet Explorer? When I click the Image button I get the error message that you get, and another message at the top of the screen telling me "This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information." Simply click that message, then click on "Temporarily allow scripted windows" and then you'll be able to use the image button as normal.

Or failing that, simply use the following code, replacing the text with the address of the image:

This 3D effect could look good on a wall - maybe in a lounge with beige walls/carpets and chocolate leather sofas...

Sometimes it takes a little experimenting.

....yeah as long as you have the requisite tank top,HUGE flairs and jesus sandals. And are drinking a cuppa in a mug from a nice arts and crafts shop (complete with holes and dodgy glazing).Oh how i love the 70's,even though i was only born in 75.I've seen the pictures of what my mum made me were.Brown vest with orange piping!
Fav album covers you say?Off the top of my head i'd say Fish Rising by Steve Hillage.Very 70's front and very very 70's pictures of the band on the back (The Steve Hillage Band/Gong are sponsored by the makers of woolly hats).

I defy you to come up with a darker, more beautiful cover than this.

I'd put an image up but this is from my phone plus you've all seen it.
Ad a teenager I had 3 album covers pinned to my bedroom wall. 2 Roger Dean and one other.
Yes "Close to the Edge" Asia 1st album and Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds".
More recently as works of art set in their time I might have added LemonJelly's "KY", Stone Roses, and New Order's " Blue Monday"
As for my face Oldfield cover - Ommadawn & TSODE
