Just been listening to the original TB again and *only just realised* that the intruments in the Finale get introduced on the left hand side of the stereo mix and then move slowly to the right as their part gets played!
Don't know why I never noticed this before and don't know why I can't find it mentioned elsewhere (maybe too obvious to most folks to bother mentioning  )
The exception seems to be the tubular bells themselves which come in bang in the middle of the mix...
I love that there are so many little things to discover in MO's music.
