Sorry, I seem to be wrong? These are the replies I got back from the Jeff Beck music Message Board.
I believe you may be wrong, as Steve Stewart
in LA just talked to him,(I'm assuming he talked back.)Did you hear this on a radio station?

I emailed Malcome Dome at total rock radio
on Sky, who origionally reported Fraser's
death, and he mailed back saying "I dunno, It's all
very confusing" replying to the Steve S. conversation. He's right.

Sorry if I'm wrong or if I heard wrong. I was sure that's what I heard. I was listening to Mike Rumsby's Wednesday night Rock Show on Radio Maldwyn, and that's where I heard/misheard it!
I'm sure you can see that I always try to give out correct information from all my previous reports. Should have check the search engines first - I'll know to check next time!
