It's electronic/abstract/non-melodic type music. You've been warned!

Hi,

Not my style (I prefer melodic rather than ambient) but I listened anyway...

The production is superb and although the music doesn't push all the right buttons for me I did find parts of it mesmerising.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
terry.

Thanks for the feedback!
I'm glad you mention the production because I'm quite happy with that aspect of it this time.  :)

:D I mean the sound of your track ,at the beginning , is the same of the one of Tres Lunas game when we start it .

What? I swear this is a coincidence. I have never played that game! haha...
The basic material for my music is mostly movie samples and field recordings which are processed beyond all help. But no Mike Oldfield samples this time!
I did use an entire MO interview deep in the mix of a track once, but the only discernible thing is him saying "...there is noise now!" in that truly unique Reading accent!  :D

I agree with Terry, very atmospherically ambient.

Once it got going though I quite liked it.

If Summertime was your Moonlight Shadow then this is your Incantations?????  :) .

Tubular Tos:
I'll try that game sometime. I downloaded Music VR lots of years ago and tried it for about 25 minutes. Didn't like it to be honest! Is that the same things as the Tres Lunas game or are they different things?

Milamber:
I hope my "Incantations" is yet to come! I see it more as my "Hergest Ridge" (there are comprisons are in no way self-congratulatory! hehe....)

:) So you surely heard the sound of the volcano eruption behind the cactus in fire when you start the Tres Lunas game.It seems to be the same of yours in the intro of the track .

Lars, I finally got a chance to download and listen to this. I think it's my favorite of your ambient albums so far; as others have said, the production is great - there's lots of deep spaces to get lost in (especially on the title track), and that's what I look for in this kind of music. There was a place around 6:15 on the title track (shortly before it goes into the drum machine beat) where I was almost reminded of the ambient section of Pink Floyd's Echoes (the part right before the galloping guitar comes in and leads you back to the verse).

Anyway, really cool. I'll have to listen to it some more.

I still have to say though, my favorite thing you've done is the Lost in the Woods project, any chance of another one in the future?

Thanks Syd! I was very happy with the transition between the first noisy part and the drum machine part. I think I acheived a kind of "sky opening up" type of effect.

As a matter of fact Lost in the Woods mk II is in the works! I have recorded eight songs (just vocals and guide keyboard) and sent of to my friend Johan who is doing arrangements and other sounds. Working titles are Furrow / Pussycat Night / Worship and Desire / How Dreamlike the City / She Stands Watching / Manor / Shameless / Trees In Moonlight

Of course I'll keep tubular.net posted about the project as it progresses. My idea is to turn Lost in the Woods into an ongoing project and my "main group" so to speak.

Awesome! Can't wait to hear it. I just read the bio on your Odensjo site - I had no idea you played bass in Dawn. I was actually listening to a podcast the other day that played a song off of the Sorgh Pa Svarte Vingar Flogh album - so I was hearing you play and didn't even realize!

One funny thing is that since I left Dawn they haven't released one single note of music or played live. They have an official website where they have threatened to "unleash" the new album "unto the world" more or less yearly since 2004.
They KNOW they need me!   :p

:D

Those albums are impossible to get a hold of; they're not sold on iTunes and people are selling the CD's for $80 plus on Amazon. :/
