Thanks Tubularman,
For just $2 more I got the cd with the dvd included and a booklet with all the words to the songs on it. He's a clever musician I think and when you get artists from different backgrounds or ethnicities working together the result is a more eclectic, unusual and original style.
Gorillaz is a side project for Damon Albarn of Blur with his cartoon pals 'Murdoch' - bass player, ladies man, bully boy, jail bird, 'Russel' - drummer, Hip Hop Hard Man, '2D' - singer, halfwit, pretty boy and 'Noodles' - jnr martial arts expert & visionary (created by Jamie Hewlett of Tank Girl fame). "4 people on one mission, to save the world from manufactured pop". And the album features guest artists such as De La Soul on Feel Good Inc, Ike Turner, Shaun Ryder (who?), Ninah Cherry and Dennis Hopper.
The dvd shows the full clip to 'Feel good inc' and when you leave it sitting in the player on the menu setting, you have a graphic of the four cartoon characters, and every now and then one of them makes comments like, 'Oh Russel, you filthy pig, did you cut the cheese?!', 'Time out man, I'm getting hungry, let's go eat', 'I'm gonna have to put another quid in the meter in a minute', 'This joker better hurry up, I've got an app at the hairdressers in half an hour', 'If we move really slowly, I bet we can get out of here', 'I bet Keith Richards doesn't have to do this', very amusing. Great album, anyone else had a listen to it?
