A while ago, several of you commented on my track "Gravity" suggesting that I change the sounds.  I wasn't keen to change the original version of the track, but I've done a remix of it to see if anyone likes it.

Comments would be excellent :)

Hi Moz. I like the rolling piano which I think works well on it's own but the hi hat does  not fit in to my ears. Also, the track becomes a bit cluttered when it gets going with too many sounds fighting for space. I think you have something with the piano though but I would like to hear a better sound. I appreciate you are perhaps working with basic sounds though. Perhaps a bit like "Top Of The Morning" where things build slowly.

Ian.

Mr B :- just now playing this although I got it earlier. Mind you, I've lost the original mix somewhere in my filing system!

Good muscianship, as we expect from you, clear production.

But I'll agree with Ian, that the middle section (with Glockenspiel sound) is a little "fussy"/busy. Good start, good ending. So the issue is the theme progression.

I heard it just now... yeah, it's well played... very good keyboards...
I'm not sure it's my kind of music, ..
but well done  :)

Well, I like this a lot. "Gravity" was not really one of my fav tracks among the ones you made, Ben, although I did somewhat like it. Now I do *definitely* like it. :) The rhythm has improved quite a bit from the previous version, and I don't agree at all with Ian above about the track being cluttered or the sounds fighting for space [and it also doesn't sound "fussy" - sorry, Andy ;)]. On the contrary, it sounds to me like you found some very good ways of 'filling up' what may have sounded a little bit empty in the original version. Plus, I think that the marimba / xylophone part is really, really, really, really nice.  :)

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Ian - actually, I have quite a wide range of high quality sounds.  This was really an attempt to get a very different feel to a track where a lot of people asked me to do just that.

Ian and olracUK - Here is a link to the original version:

Here is the thread in this forum where I received some comments on the original version:

It would be very interesting to hear your comments on the remix if you get to hear the original version too.

As for the remaining comments - thanks to all of you :) Without feedback, we can't improve! ;)

Hmm.. after hearing the original, there are bits of both I like, and sections that my ears don't like. The production on remix is much fuller, more polished, and as Ugo said, rythm flows better. But I still find the glockenspiel sound overbearing, the retro-game/70's TV sound of the original was closer to fitting better.

Overall, I'll say I prefer the remix.
