Hello everybody

I have added the Gothenburg show to the Oldfield Bit Torrent tracker
We have here one of the bests recordings from this part of the european tour
of 1982, also a
great performance. The audience was having a great time and doing his part in
the show (at the
start of Ommadawn for example). There were also funny things such as when
Maggie Reilly
introduced herself

From the setlist, I would like to highlight two songs. The first one being
Hergest Ridge, this
great piece was only played live in some shows from this tour (the orquestral
version is a
different thing). The other one is rarer than this. It is a mix of an early
mix of In High
Places (the official version would be released the following year) with Etude
(this had to
wait till 1984 to see the light in an official release). The whole thing was
introduced under
the name of In High Places in other shows, but in this one Mike simply
described it as "a song
about lepricorns", that's why the record calls this track this way.

If you didn't have this recording, or you have it in MP3 format, I strongly
recommend you to
get this torrent and own something that every Oldfield fan should have

I've been waiting to hear that for a long time. It's the only known live performance of material from Hergest Ridge, isn't it? And in my home country to boot...

I thought it was just the "thunderstorm" section, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the "quiet" part after that was also performed (FMO-style).

Maggie makes a mess of Orabidoo, doesn't she? One can get enough of her scat-singing, but I bet it was Mike's idea!

Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this.

Hello, Mario, and thanks very much for this. The sound quality is very similar to the mp3s I already had of this, but it's nice to have it in FLAC.

One little comment: when introducing "In high places/Étude", Mike does not say "A song about lepricorns", but "leprechauns" (i.e. elfs in Irish folklore). His comment about them being "magic people, very small" confirms this.

I noticed that the record cover also says "Lepricorns", this means that the original compiler was the one who got it wrong in the first place.

There are other shows in which HR was played and there are several recordings (Edinburgh, Helsinki (does anybody have a tape of this one?), Portsmouth...), but this is the one which have better sound quality and have been most distributed.

You have a sample MP3 on the torrent page so you can decide yourself if it worth to download the full torrent

If your MP3s are similar to mine you can notice that some bits are missing between files which is specially anoying at the start of Platinum and In High Places.
