Hello All!

I'm new to this board, though I've been lurking for a real long time. So if my post doesn't belong here, please feel free to move it.

Anyway, I have a problem. I own a copy of Platinum on CD and Airborn on Vinyl. I've always hated the fact that Guilty was replaced by Woodhenge on the CD, and I was going to try to create a Airborn CD for my car, when I realized that my turntable no longer works!

So what I need is a mp3 of Guilty, if someone can help me out. I can prove that I have both Airborn and Platinum if nessesary (although in this day and age I don't know how to 100% prove anything via email), and I'm not trying to create some bootleg CD or anything. I just want to be able to listen to Airborn in my car every once in a while.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Of course the original Airborn version would be best, but I'm not that big a purist, and at this point I'd settle for any of the non-live mixes.

Thanks.

Woodhenge always seemed like the link from early Mike to 80's Mike for me, so I got used to it on the vinyl UK album. Not a great track, and Guilty is better as a song, but Woodhenge still works for me in the album context.

(you may have imagined a link was here - but it wasn't, honest)

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

OMG! What a fantastic link! Thank you so much! That was exactly what I needed, actually more than I needed. Thanks again!

Hah! It has been revived! The original site was shut down, for legal reasons. Good to see it'd back up.

Revived? Nope, it's still offline. There's no new site, there are no new songs available and, of course, there are no way to escape from the long arm of the RIAA. So you haven't seen that site, nor you have ever heard about it, and, if asked, nobody saws you, nobody heards you and nobody can proves it.

(Imagine that in the voice of Ernst Borgnine in a Chicago 30s gangster dressing) :p

Well, it is really the other way round. Woodhenge was replaced in Airborne with Guilty.

Well, the Guilty version included on some Airborne versions had been speeded up (in fact all the songs were, see comparison). I've got an MP3 with the speeded up Guilty of Airborne, so if you're interested in it send me a PM. And about creating a bootleg, I think that someone (maybe Martin Bartosik) mastered to CD some time ago, but I don't know if it's available somewhere  :(  In my opinion, what's really interesting from Airborne is the second record (specially the live TB) and, of course, the cover  :D

Hey Spinne,

Thanks for the correction, you knew what I meant, I just didn't say it right. Also thanks for the offer of the speeded up version, but the "standard" version works just fine for the CD. And anyway, after all that I fixed my turntable, so I can copy directly off the album again. But thanks to you and everyone for the assistance!

Oh yeah, my version of Airborn was a single LP release! I didn't even know there was a second LP until about a year or so ago when I started searching the boards for Airborn information. From what I see on various message boards, The single LP version seems pretty rare. But I bought it from a department store here in California a long long time ago. (Remember when department stores had record sections?, that sort of dates me huh?)

Thanks again to all. Oh and that link, it will self destruct in 5...4...3...2...1.....

Not yet  :p

But mind that I have not spoken here about that crappy, disturbing, state-of-the-shit copy protection that has ruined my user experience with Tubular Bells 2003...

...not yet  ;)

If any topics get deleted, it won't be mysterious, as you'll know it was me or Olivier who did it...
You can always ask me, if you're wondering what's happened to something - often it'll just be that I've moved it to an area where I feel it's more relevant.

You can talk about copy protection if you want, though I'd not recommend it - I think I said more than enough on that topic back in 2003, I think you'll find that people got rather fed up with it after that (including Mike, it seems, but I think we'd do best to wait for his next album to find out whether it really won't be copy protected as he promised).
