Yes, when he used an amp at all, it was the Twin Reverb. By the time he made Amarok and Tubular Bells II, he was recording direct through a Roland GP-8, but he mentioned that for Amarok, he also used the Les Paul Junior (presumably the SG) through a Twin Reverb for a really 'searing' sound. He noted at the same time that it had been the main guitar sound on Ommadawn. He plugged it through a whole chain of devices to get his distortion sound before it went into the Twin Reverb, though - the amp alone wouldn't do it.

Let's not forget that in that huge-ass signal chain he talks about, that he runs it through yet another amp, the battery-powered Vox Escort:

Vox Escort

You can see it in the video for the "William Tell Overture" on the Elements DVD, actually.

Yes. He was still using it up until Tubular Bells 2003. Whether he still has it after his studio clearout, I don't know. He quite likely used it on some of his albums during the 80s - I seem to remember there's a picture of it inside the Five Miles Out sleeve, and some of the guitars on that album do sound like they could have been recorded through it.

Mike Oldfield also has a 1957 version of the Les Paul Junior as well.  It is a single cutaway model with a Yellow finish and can be seen in two shots throughout the "Shadow On The Wall" video from the "Elements DVD".  It was also modified in the early 1980s to have the 22 fret fingerboard replaced with a 24 fret one.  It is sometimes nicknamed "The TV Model".  :)  :)
