I was just curious if there is any guitar instruction by Mike Oldfield in print anywhere. Many other guitarists have made "how to" books and videos, or at least some articles in "Guitar Player" and other magazines.

Yes, there was an article in Total Guitar in the UK a few years ago. It wasn't anything huge, just a brief interview and discussion of his technique, then a few examples from him, both transcribed and on CD. You can read the article here. I'd bet the tracks are floating around somewhere (a note to those who might want to know - the first two examples were played by Mike, the solo version of Moonlight Shadow wasn't), but I have no idea where...

There's been nothing else of that kind in recent years, if ever (I've not seen anything else myself). It's something we might look into a bit, with a view to changing that situation...

I have a copy of Total Guitar where there is a feature on Mike Oldfield.  A few of his songs are transcribed, Moonlight Shadow, Didlybom and another track which sounds a bit like Top of the Morning on Electric Guitar.  The Transcriptions have pointers on them so you can sound like Mike.  The CD that came with them had excerpts.  The only track Mike played himself was Didlybom, the other tracks were the Total Guitar Guitarists interpretation of them.

Thanks. I figured, if Roy Clark can do it, why not Mike Oldfield?

I've still got the mag in the house.  Unfortunately i've lost the CD that came with it.

I'm sure Korgscrew is right regarding the two tracks being played by Mike as well, as opposed to just one as i thought!
