There is a VERY* bad quality mp3 of a live version of William Tell Overture - it seems to be played in a concert indeed. Unfortunately I don't know when or where was it played though. The others quite possibly weren't played live at all.

* It's a candidate for the worst quality audio ever. :)

Is the sound quality worse than the "Royal Wedding Anthem" file?

I wish Mike would dip into his back catalogue more when he plays like - not just do the obvious hits/crowd pleasers! Not all of his stuff consists of long instrumentals - there are short ones and songs too!

Way worse. You can just hear that it's William Tell Overture indeed. :)

Don Alfonso, The Path, Pipe Tune: I doubt any of these.
On the other hand, Etude was played in some concerts of Who's Next tour in 1982 (!), two years before The Killing Fields was released. It's the same version though - as opposed to the early live version of In High Places played in the same period that was quite different than the album version later.

I agree with you in the more surprising and diversified concert track list. But there wasn't any problem with this in the 80s IMHO.

I'd also like him to perform more material from albums he didn't tour - a nice selection, although vocal songs would need the right voice/s so that might present a problem - instrumentals, of course, would be NO PROBLEM!

I'd love to hear live versions of In the Pool and Afghan in particular, as these are two of my favourite of Mike's short instrumentals.  I think they would be perfect for a concert.

In Castro-Urdiales show in 1999 people started crying "Don Alfonso" and then Mike play a very few improvised notes from that song (around 10 seconds). I think this is as closest as you can get from a live version of Don Alfonso. Also, does anybody have a full version of this concert? I know it was taped but I can't find it anywhere :/

About Etude, as EeToN has already said, a fine version was played at the start of the european tour with an early version of In High Places.

I've just been thinking - I'm wrong! Mike needs to have a sufficient number of musicians to be able to perform his pieces - sometimes he can get away with fewer musicians, if the pieces aren't so complicated, and at other times he needs a large group.

Once again a few notes, in the Newcastle show in 1980 this time, just before playing Blaydon Races and after the second Punkadiddle ;)

I have heard introduce the In High Places/Etude duo on that tour as A Song About Lepricorns and also simply In High Places. What's the show, this Etude you have comes from?

Did 'The Lake' ever get performed live? Or was it released after his major concert days................ :/

I would imagine that a six minute rendition would be very moving  :)

The Lake was one of the tracks on the 1984 tour. It was performed between Taurus 1/Taurus 2 and Five Miles Out.
