Met him backstage at the Manchester Apollo in 1980 on his 27th Birthday (yes I had a card) and then a week or so later at Sheffield City Hall I managed to get on the tour bus for around 10 minutes.  He was shy yet charming and quietly spoken both times.  I got him to sign a few bits most of which I threw away a few years later.  One tour program he  got signed I gave away to a spanish fan around 10 years ago.

I don't know what "care to elaborate" means but I have to say that he is the worst person I have ever met....

But he is still my favourite musician!

:D

I met him backstage at the John Anson Ford Theatre in 1993. We chatted for a good 10 mins - mainly about TBII but he also urged my partner and I to visit Joshua Tree National Park. It was a very pleasant experience, probably because he knew who I was and any bad experience would have been written in the fanzine. He signed my booklet for the Elements boxed set - it was an advance copy from Virgin. We also helped ourselves to some of the post concert nosh that was on offer.

I'd love to if the chance comes one day...but since he hasn't got many female fans, dunno about how it would be...
