I bought some relatively nice headphones, Audio Technica A900, about 9 years ago. My mind tells me they sound mushier and mushier. Is it expected? Or is it because I recently bought nice Bowers & Wilkins iPhone speakers and in-ear heaphones that might be better to my ears?

In any case, I'm going to replace them, because for whatever reason I just don't enjoy them anymore, but was wondering if these things get worst and worst over time or not. I used them on average 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Olivier check out Grado Headphones.
They have a set at around the $400 mark that have great reviews thinking of getting Santa to get me a pair  :D

The review I recently read stated you could spend triple on others and these were better for your buck.

Now that's what's called technological design. I presume you bought the new B&W C5 in-ear headphones which I'm really considering buying. From what I read they shall sound fantastic.

B&W is well known for their excellent sound throughout their whole product range. I can really tell by listening to my Nautilus 804 speakers.

I am quite happy with my Ultimate Ears Super-Fi 5 Pro soundwise but they don't seem to fit well enough to my ears, no matter what size of silicone cover I choose.

Yeah I've got the C5. Sound great, but not super comfy as all in-ear, I couldn't wear them during hours at the office. I've also got the Zeppelin Air iPhone speaker from them, which is really impressive, made us listen to it instead of the complicated 5:1 setup with Klipsh speakers + subwoofer in the other room.
So I'm looking for a new comfy office headphones.

To play all the MO LP's bottom left HR2010 (I think, could be Handel! ), Earth Moving, QE2, Islands.... :D

I don't have a good pair of headphones at the moment my trusty Sennheiser ones from about three decades back finally fell apart (literally) a few years ago. I don't recall them ever dropping in quality mind you during their lifetime?
