Forgive the lack of musical terminology (I'm not a musician), but has anyone else spotted little gems of "tunes" that maybe you can only hear through headphones or that you don't normally notice because you are concentrating on the main instruments? My fave is a little tune which you can hear on The Bell (tb2). It is a little wavering synth tune which runs most of the way through but becomes particularly audible when the perussion kicks in at 0:43. This tune I believe forms a good part of Orbular bells. Any one else like this tune or have any others to share?

well I'm sure this isn't what you meant but I think that the whole of 'The Shining ones' is a little gem!  :)

That vibraphone tune at the beginning of Airborne is a typical example of those hidden melodies. There are more but at the moment this was the only one that came to my mind.

I notice hidden gems in Mike's music all the time. Having just heard Mike's new tracks for the forthcoming album, new track 2 appears to have a few hidden gems on it.

I can't talk about anything specific, but I must tell you how thrilled I am to now have an mp3 player.  I just got it yesterday and am listening to MO for the first time with headphones -- or ear buds, as they are called.  Anyway, it is quite incredible to hear exactly what is going on.  You miss so much by listening to regular speakers.  Now I can start all over and listen to everything again, as if it was the first time.
