Has anyone noticed anything odd using Hotmail recently?
A couple of days ago I received an email from a perfectly respectable source with an attachment that Hotmail wouldn't let me download because its virus checker had detected 'an incurable virus' in it.

Yesterday I tried to send someone a file using Hotmail, and Hotmail refused to send it because its virus checker had detected a virus. But I know the file isn't infected - I checked it with Norton (up-to-date) and the Panda online checker. So I sent it through Yahoo instead (and as I expected the Yahoo virus checker also declared it to be clean).

But the address to which I sent it was a Hotmail address - and the recipient was told by Hotmail that the file was infected, and couldn't download it.

Is anyone else encountering this kind of problem with Hotmail at the moment?

Well, I just sent a zip file to myself using hotmail, and that worked fine, no virus or anything. I tried again, this time sending a .exe file to my hotmail acount using my other e-mail, and this time it was blocked as a 'potentially unsafe attachment.' The help site says that hotmail will always block a .exe file, regardless of whether it scans for a virus. This doesn't sound like your problem however, as there was no mention of a virus. The virus checker seems to work fine for me.
