Topic: How did "bagpipe guitars", become Mike Oldfields Single??< Next Oldest | Next Newest >

In the original TB there is not a track listing (I'm aware of anyway)
In 2003 the same section is called "bagpipe guitars"
In the new release/mix 2009 it's called "Mike Oldfields Single"
Is this only because of making it available to be played in radio and thus selling more records...or are there another reason?

The single was originally released to counter the extracts from TB being released under the title "Theme From Excorsist".According to the notes in the 2009 edition it was suggested by George Martin.If you can get hold of a copy of the single (Mike Oldfield's Single (Theme From Tubular Bells)bw Froggy Went A'Courtin)released in 1974 it's quite different (and IMO better)than the re-vamped version on the 2009 edition.
