This was spontaneously combusted - ahem, born :D - in my mind (I do have a sick mind, don't I? :p) after commenting on a track posted by nightspore, and originally it was to consist only of the last item above, with a "Yes" or "No" answer. But then I thought: what the f*ck, this is a Mike Oldfield board, let's make it about Mike Oldfield! :D So I added a bunch of Mike-related items. [The original question remained, tho'.] Pick up the funniest one, the most absurd one, the most unlikely one, the most outrageous one... or simply the one you like best... and, if possible, answer yes or no.

If I was Barry Palmer I would sing all the songs from Islands, Earth Moving and Heaven's Open just to show the world how good the songs could have been. Ditching Barry was one big mistake IMO as I despise the idea of "guest singers". Especially singers like Bonnie Tyler, Adrian Belew (the man who killed King Crimson!) or "jim price" or "max bacon" (those can't be their real names!).

I certainly don't get what this poll is about, but I still picked #3. Though #9 certainly leaves an intriguing lot of options...

Who's Miriam Stockley? Sounds like someone who should be advertizing Jenny Craig. I'm too lazy to check - I caught that from Ugo  :D

I'd totally be one of the dancers from Portsmouth and dance. In front of my woman. Naked.

@ Holger: it's about nothing, really. It all sprang from the last question (BTW, I'd love to know who voted for it! :D) and then I just made up a list of silly or unlikely Oldfield-related items, such as silly effects, silly looks, or reversals of the songs' singers. I put #3 in because, to me, that's the silliest, dumbest piece of 'acting' ever done by Mike O. in one of his videos, although the "Lost in Static 18" section of the "Five Miles Out" video comes really close. :)

@ nightspore: Miriam Stockley is the 'voice' behind several music projects, the most prominent being Karl Jenkins' Adiemus. She never really managed to emerge on her own - her latest solo record Eternal sounds just like Adiemus. She sang "Moonlight Shadow" at NotP 2006 and at the AiH concert in Berlin (IIRC), and she sang backing vocals on "To Be Free". More info about her is
here.

@ Lars, Sir M. & Caveman: thanks for your replies. Caveman, yours is particularily good. :D

You can have even more fun if you switch between numbers, eg, if you were Maggie Reilly, would you kiss a male dog?  :D

@ milamber: unfortunately (as per the rules of this board, not mine) you can vote only once. Who would you pick to perform the Portsmouth dance to? :)

Actually, I'm extremely bad with faces. Often, I can't tell whether identical twins really are. As for Tres Lunas, Milamber, what a perfect opportunity to press-gang you into playing it!

This is my answer. I love Barry Palmer's voice. Along with Anita Hegerland and Maggie Reilly they make by far the best singers trio in all the saga. Barry Palmer should have sung more songs from Mike.

The most precious thing I possess, is knowing the answer's yes
