Hi,

Well 2009 is almost over and 2010 hovers on the horizon just beyond New Years Eve... and I've just about finished another piece of music. I'm working on tracks for my next album, tentatively titled Faerie Tales and Other Stories, and I thought I'd share a track called 'In A Nutshell'.

The track is finished musically and structurally but hasn't been mixed or mastered properly yet and there are a couple of pops and clicks due to an overworked laptop.

I've uploaded it to a few sites... pick your favourite!

I'd be very grateful if you could share your thoughts on it with me.

Wishing you all the very best for the coming year.

Thanks in advance,

Terry.

Lovely piano on November Wind - reminds me of Einaudi.

Very interesting.  The final section has a melody that reminds me of Bond themes for some reason!

I really like this. The way it starts is very interesting. I love the way it flows and progresses. This is something I would like to get more into in my own music.Longer developing tracks. It reminds me a bit of the Oldfield/Bedford type work. Like the piano very much also.

A real talent.

Thanks very much peeps!

@wiga - I love Einaudi's compositions and playing, thanks for the favourable comparison (at least... I assume it was meant as favourable!;)

@smillsoid - I wonder if it's the chromatic descending bit in the strings? Taken together with the major root chord followed by minor 4th it probably accidentally uses some composing trick that  was used in Bond themes.

@Deb - Thank you!

@ian - Thanks! I'm chuffed that it reminds you of Oldfield/Bedford and that you like the piano too. I have a problem with the music that I write - the tracks are usually either too short with underdeveloped ideas or too long and rambling... trying to find that happy medium is quite difficult but is something I'm working on.

Cheers,
Terry.

I would say you give Einaudi a run for his money!
