Somehow, my copy of "The Essential Mike Oldfield" has become damaged.  Now, the TB3 excerpt skips!  I know a lot of people didn't like it and I have the full album anyway, but I liked this track - it's the only reason why I bought the album.  How annoying!

Have you ever been listening to music, really enjoying it, and then something outside of the music itself totally ruins your enjoyment?

Yes. There has been quite a few occaisions where I couldn't listen to Amarok in its entirety due to external interruptions. I don't feel as obliged to listen in a single sitting to Mike's other long instrumentals that have parts.

Heheh...

I was listening to Amarok, while some men were fixing te roof just by my window. Somehow I didn't find it very disturbing :)

Seriously, I never keep listening to music, after something interrupts it. It spoils the whole fun.

I'm pretty much fine with interruptions during listening of music. I was talking about the interruptions where I have to abandon listening to music. Thankfully, being called down to dinner by my parents is something I no longer have to deal with much.

I was 40 something minutes into Amarok, and a fool on my bus changed the track :(

He calls it what I listen to 'gameboy music'.

I can't bear to turn off the car engine when I have arrived at my destination and the song is still going.  Just this week I arrived at work before the end of Ommadawn.  Had to sit in the car and wait til it was over before going in.

battaries are my external problem factors...
i try to bring my discman to school, so I can hear it at the way back. But always the bagpack moves and presses the button, so when I want to hear the discman at the end of the day I discover the battaries are low :S

I should think about that more...
or else it's no light and shade for me after school ;)
