Does anyone listen to IQ? If you're in London tonight without anything to do, they're over at the Mean Fiddler.

I had their concept album, The Wake, since the mid-80's and recently re-discovered them, wondering if they were still around. I am currently in love with Dark Matter, which is their latest album (c2004). "Harvest of Souls" (24 min.) gives homage to "Supper's Ready" but it's very contemporary. In fact, IQ continues to progress and create incredibly lovely, intelligent material (there are some signature IQ marks, but they haven't stagnated)--and all of this while having "day jobs!"

Galadriel--somewhere within the last couple of days you had asked me more about IQ and some clips. There are a few from their latest album at their website, located here, under media (you have to mouse over the "Dark Matter" letters in the logo to find it--think it's under the letter "m"). The latest information is that they're coming out with another work this year, and they are appearing in Loreley, Germany for the Night of the Prog, on 21 July. http://www.wiventertainment.de. Fish, Asia, and Jethro Tull will also be at that one!

BTW--since my earlier post in this topic, I've added the Jubilee DVD, Seventh House, and Subterranea, and those are also incredible--absolutely incredible. Ah...just remembered (thinking of some of IQ's epic pieces) where I saw your post! It was in the topic about Mike's forthcoming CD and it being longer pieces! Anyway--IQ is fresh, totally out there for the love of creating music and performing it--and I cannot wait to see them play live!

Edited to add: Meant to say that there is also a discussion forum like this one connected with the official site. The forum includes an "Ask the Band" section where the guys actually answer questions posted by their fans (they interact and post to all areas of the forums--it took awhile to figure out which band member had which nickname). They are great as are the members--a wonderful spot in cyberspace for IQ fans to hang out.
