I don't think i have known such a quite time being a fan of Mike,we are hearing nothing, surely,it would be nice to have a bit more of an insight into the new album, etc, but nothing, now we are in 2003,and half way through the first month,so only 4 months to go,you would have thought that the record company would be starting the big promotion drive, maybe a teaser TV ad,or a teaser website would be nice,or an article in a magazine, even the amount of people on this forum has gone down a lot since the release of Tres Lunas.I want to get excited about the new album, but i am finding it difficult at the moment with the quietness!!!!!.
Come on Mike, and record company, let's hear you.

Its still quite a while untill the album comes out so I wouldn't hold your breath as far as promotion is concerned, I suspect things will heat up a month or even a few weeks before the release. Since we know what the album already contains I don't think many people will get to excited by it, reletive to the release of TL anyway, though obviously it will be interesting to hear what it sounds like. I hope Mike's record company manage things better this year, In the UK at least.

As to these forums, well we've run out of things to argue about  ;). No doubt the new TB will spark some quite passionate debate and with the prospect (hopefully) of Mike touring this year and with the TB MVR there could be much to discuss in the months ahead. Here's to a good Oldfield year, I hope its a good one.

ps One things for sure I won't ruin the suprise like I did with TL by down loading snippets of the new album off the web, I want to hear it fresh all the way through. I just hope Warners get the album IN ALL THE RECORD SHOPS ACROSS THE WORLD ON THE 25th OF MAY. No staggered release this time (whats the point?)

As for David Brent, well,i'm not a fan!!
As for Tubular Bells,i agree about the staggered release thing, what was the point?waste of time that one,but there would be no harm in starting the promotion now, because the promotion for Dark Side Of The Moon's re-release SACD has started.

I'm not sure there is a point...it's more that Warner is such a poor struggling company that they didn't have the resources to do it all in one push (yes, that is a sarcastic comment ;)).

I don't think it's unusually quiet at the moment - it happens quite often. There'll be some news along soon...

I have found that this forum is pretty quiet at the moment, but I have seen this happen before. Prople soon find things to talk about again. Some news from Mike would certainly be welcome, and a promise to release it all at once, even in Australia, would be amazing.
