Yes, total silence...like in the old days before the internet where you had to wait and wait to the day that you by chance read an advertisement for a new Oldfield album in the newspaper.

Even though he might be in a creative phase or busy with recording - how much effort does it take to write a few lines every week or every 14 days on his website? I am sure all fans would be very happy if he did so. But I guess the Oldfield vs. fan communication subject has been discussed before....

I´ve discussed about it before here, and I do think that Mike´s tatic regarding his next album is to keep it as a secret project, doesn´t wanna post what is the current status of it like he did for TL and TB 2003 on MO.com.

Mike is now in a period of his musical life that he doesn´t need to prove anything for the world anymore. If we like or not his new project,it really doesn´t care at all for him.

Let´s wait and see what is next for him.

As long as he has a couple dozen guitars and some recording equipment of some kind in there with him, too.

Where the Falls of Minnehaha
Flash and gleam among the oak-trees,
Laugh and leap into the valley."

Leave Mike alone, for damn's sake. :D I guess he is in no hurry to deploy some album for some "purpose" (like there was the purpose for releasing TB2003, 30th anniversary and all), so he just wants to work in peace. So I guess we'll have to wait... or not wait at all. Let's all be surprised when we hear about it, then. And if you need something new, go listen to, I dunno, David Byrne's new album. ;) (good mood)

In an off-topic note, I don't suppose Mike himself posts here. But I wouldn't be surprised if he lurked these forums often... He certainly knows about its existance. But how will we know?...

I am all for leaving Mike to get on and work, and to be honest would prefer that he does'nt tell us to much about what he is doing, because as normal people go off on one about what THEY think he is doing, and start running Mike down again, which is so boring and not at all helpful,to anyone, but just a short note teaseing us from Mike saying,i'm half finished recording,or i am just mixing the album right now, etc.
And if you want anything new to listen to,check out the amazing Mike like instrumental "Cluster One"by Pink Floyd from The Division Bell
