I also got to meet him, chat for ages and get a few things signed! Really nice guy - easy to talk too and very funny - a dry sense of humour! Jan Akkerman is the 3rd hero of mine I've shook hands with - along with Peter Green and Steve Hackett! I really respect the Dutch - especially members of Focus, Golden Earring and also Richard Kraijeck and Ray Van Barneveld!! They are all cool and rock - even the 2 sportstars I've just named! I wish that Golden Earring would get re-introduced to UK audiences - like Jan Akkerman was about 10 years ago - then I'd be able to see them live! They still are a great rockband! Back to top

He was in a very heavy car crash several years ago and nearly didn't survive.....
