Check out this week's 'Sounds of the '60's' on BBC Radio 2 - if you haven't heard the track 'The Russian Spy And I', I think it was by The Hunters!

This should help you to find it and hear it!

I've just finished reading the latest 'Record Collector' magazine, which I mentioned the other day - I forgot to mention that there's an article about Focus, with Thijis Van Leer and Pierre Van Der Linden interviewed - yes, drummer Pierre HAS rejoined!

Focus was alright, but I saw Jan Akkerman live once, and it was boring, and you had to be quiet all the time, or some old fan gave you angry looks if you made a little noise.
And he's only showing off on his guitar, he can't play nice melodies... :/

Hope you've got the Focus DVD 'Masters From The Vaults' as it's great! Plenty more melodic playing from Jan when he was in Focus!

Well, I haven't got the DVD, but I sure enjoyed some of what he did with Focus, but him solo was too boring, because there was no fluteplayer or no rock and roll atmosphere...

Sadly I haven't got his solo albums, so I'm not sure which might be of interest to you.

'From The Basement' and 'Heartware' are among his best, 'Focus In Time' he does Renaissance style music in the style he did in Focus

I've got this info. from the booklet that came with the DVD 'Jan Akkerman - Live'.

Perhaps you should contact other Akkerman fans or his website to ask which albums would be of interest to you?
