Sorry, the music, have you heard it yet? I'm interested to know where Jarre is right now, I quite liked Metamorphosis but lost touch with him after that. I tried a few tracks off that Geometry of Love album but they didn't do it for me at all

I heard some minutes from it, i these are very cool tracks, very Jarreish, meantime very experimental and new.

These tracks are from 2002, but it doesn't matter, these are up-to-date recently.

Why? Geomtery of Love is sooo relax and nice!

(The new Jarre STUDIO album is scheduled for end of 2006 or beginning of 2007)

To be honest I haven't liked much of what Jarre has done since Zoolook, I think his concerts became more the centre of his attention than his music. I though Metamorphosis had at least some edge and character to it that most of his earlier post Zoolook albums didn't have. I may check out some of these new tracks though, cheers for the info.

Surely you agree, that Chronologie is marvellous? :)

I haven't heard any 'Metamorphoses' tracks, I gather there are some songs......

err... Isn't Chronologie regarded as one of Jarre's worst efforts? Even by the die hard fans I thought, still each to their own and all that.

I think Metamorphosis was indeed Jarre's first big scale attempt at more traditional song based material. Its very influenced by fellow Frenchman Air, he obviously was influenced by what they had done using eletronic voice effects. There are some pretty fine melodies on it and generaly it has a nice atmosphere about it.

I thought Aero was a bunch of re-recordings wasn't it? Geometry of Love was a proper studio album of new material.

Released a couple of years back, as far I'm aware its a kind of lounge core chill-out album. I don't really no much about it, there are other more hard core Jarre fans around here who could tell you more. It gets some quite so-so reviews on amazon. Probably worth checking out if you like his stuff though

Chronologie is probably the sixth on my list of all-time favourite albums. Especially the first four parts and even more so the brilliant Part 1.

Hi All!

I should clear some things...

Chronologie is considered as Jarre's best album ever! It is (was) very popular!
Aero is from 2004, Geometry of Love is from 2003. That is a studio album with new materials, it has relax and calm mood! I like it very much and i think lot of fans like it! You should be in the proper "form" to understand Geometry of Love.
:)

Printemps de Bourges, as i read Jarre's forum, is quite popular among fans, everybody says "it is so cool"  "i listen to it again" and like these...  :)

Try it if you can!!!! I could, but in Hungary there is no Apple iTunes... :/

At least it seems we Hungarians like it a lot. ;)

By who? I don't follow Jarre closely much now but I used to. If I remember rightly Chronologie was met with the same kind of indifference by his long term fans that Mike has been getting recently by his. I remember Jarre himself going on about how it was a return to analogue synthesis after the garbage that was Waiting for Cousteau and then some fans being well dissapointed (I certainly was, I thought most of it was pretty awful), there were certainly some very mixed responces in one of the fanzines i used to get (Conductor of the Masses) if I remember rightly.

Taking into consideration that Oxygene is still voted the greatest piece of synth work ever (it was fairly recently in Future Music magazine)  even by people who don't actually like Jarre very much I really don't know how ANY of his die hard fans can seriously think Chronologie is a better album, let alone better than Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields and Zoolook which are still classics. Chronologie just had Jarre's first crap attempts at dance music, the first track was good though, I'd admit that.

I really don't know where you got these informations, but Chronolgie is considered as ONE of the best albums! Sorry, maybe i wrote it not properly...ONE of the best albums.

I would say many fans would be happy again if JMJ return to analogues, like he did more or less in Chronologie! I know Chronologie is (was) a welcomed album among fans!!!

This album is great with analogues and with dance influence also! I would say: i'm a die hard fan to him...:-))
