Quote (Tubularman @ Dec. 27 2010, 15:11) | i think the opening track is very nice, same with OK, do it fast, Partners in crime 2, Vintage and Melancholic Rodeo. |
T&T (the title track) is quite nice to me as well, but JMJ had already done simple, uncomplicated, un-Jarre-ish, four-on-the-floor dance music on Méthamorphoses and Aéro (whose title track was, of course, recycled from a Méta track)... I thought he'd had enough of that by the time he did the Téo & Téa album!! Also, "Melancholic Rodeo" is just a preset patch on a groovebox, the Roland MC-808. [OK, JMJ created that patch, but on the actual album track he didn't play anything!!] "Vintage" and "OK" are nearly the same.
@ Tati: I've never read the interview you mention, but it's very easy to see why JMJ considers T&T a mistake in his career. It is.
