I have heard from several sources that Oldfield played lead guitar on a few tracks with this band.
On the whole however he is credited as a bassist, has he played non bass guitar atall?
Would anyone suggest this band to an Oldfield fan and were his contributions any good?

I've got Whatevershebringswesing (credited to Kevin Ayres and not Kevin Ayres and the Whole World) and it's quite good (IMHO).

There is a fairly certain link between the title track and that lovely bit before the Sailor's Hornpipe on TB.

"Song From The Bottom Of A Well" features some fairly scary playing from Mike in a style I don't think we've heard him use since.

My personal favourite Whole world is “Too old to die young”. It’s a double cd with the 2nd having nothing to do with mike, but cd 1 is a gig from 72. I couldn’t say how available it is, but if you get the chance definitely get it.

Check this for a bit more info
