For anyone that hasn't heard Mike's contributions to some of Kevin Ayres' output, here are a few worth checking out:

Shooting at the Moon - Mike plays bass and guitar throughout the album as part of Kevin Ayres' Whole World Band.

Confessions of Dr Dream - Mike plays guitar on 'Everybody's Sometime and Some People's All the Time Blues'. The blues guitar solo is superb.

Whatervershebringswesing - Mike plays lead guitar and bass on various tracks but his contribution to the eponymous track is awesome. His lead guitar on Champagne Cowboy Blues is great too. It's also worth checking out for David Bedford's piano playing on 'Stranger in Blue Suede Shoes'

Thanks for that T4.

I'm not familiar with Kevin Ayres'/ The Whole World's music.  I seem to remember a neighbour had some in his record collection.  Unfortunately he died aged 44, he had MS :( .  I didn't really get the opportunity to listen to many of his LP's   :( .  It  might make me feel sad when I listen to it, because Bob's condition deteriorated quite rapidly.

Perhaps it's worth buying a compilation album, first then if I like it then, I'll buy some more.  That's how I discovered the Edgar Broughton Band.  My husband was loaned a copy of "WasaWasa" by an older hippy friend.  Since getting the internet we discovered there were more EBB albums. Bought a compilation called "Out Demons Out", bought the "Harvest" re-issues last year      :) . Great Stuff :)

You're welcome moonchildhippy  :)

Steve Broughton who plays drums on Side 2 of TB1 was a member of the Edgar Broughton Band wasn't he? I've never heard any EBB (believe it or not with a bloody huge collection of CDs and Vinyl - I'm having to get an extension on the house to store them all  ;) ) - what are they like? I'm interested as EBB is one of those bands I keep saying I'll listen to and then never get around to it!  :/

Cheers!  :D

I urge you if you ever get the chance, listen to Too Old To Die Young.  It’s a 2-disc jobbie, disc 1 being a live concert from 72 with mike on guitar.  To my ears the concert tracks sounds better than the studio versions.

Unfortunately disc 2 is Mike free, but still good.
More info here.

Sure I’ve posted a similar reply somewhere!

Check it out if you can it’s a great album.

"Out Demons Out"

Hi Moonchildhippy.

"out demons out" I wonder if Mike was inspired to use this in FATC? Bet this has been covered in a previous thread?  :)

It's not on FATC,but on Outcast that Mike says "Out Demon Out"  ;)

Hi T4 ,

I don't think I answered your question   :O .  Steve Broughton did
play drums in the Edgar Broughton Band.

I've recently got into Kevin Aryes :) , I'll have to buy some more when I've some more money to spare, unfortunately I've just given loads out to this guy Bill   Hahhaahaaaa!!!

I'll have to listen to FATC, when I next play TB3, I'm curious to know what's said.
