While i was listening to Light and shade just after it came out I got some software that sings and played with programming it.

It was quite easy but the result was funny - I found when looking at some back up files yesterday so i thought i would post it.

If any of you have young kids you will maybe find it amusing.

Fin and Erika were probably about 7 and 9 at the time.

Very fun Ray.  :D

My youngest Katie will go to bed OK and be asleep in seconds. The elder 2, well i need a crowbar and winch most nights to get them to go up.

Playing some Oldfield songs seems to get them out of the room pretty quick though  :/  No idea why genetics hasn't led them to appreciate good music   :p

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

I looked up PC on wikepedia....I understand now..

I don't have any way of porting to that old steam driven kit.  :D  :D

Seriously though - it is a quicktime embed in a web page.  You would probably need quicktime - but sometimes if you connection is slow it takes a while to appear on the page.

Sorry - it is not really that good  - just a bit funny if you have young kids - you havn't missed much.
Regards
Ray

I'm afraid I can't understand the (two lines of) lyrics to this. The task, which is already difficult on its own for me because of my mother tongue (Italian), is here further complicated by the fact that Vocaloid (or whatever it is) does not pronounce the words properly. So, please, Ray... since your 'blank' pages look like they have a space for some text, could you please write down the lyrics in there, so I can share your fun? Thanks in advance. :)

P.S.: For all of you who can't get to the file, here it is. It's an AIFF file, 38 seconds long.

The words are :

Why do Fin and Erika take so damn long - to go to bed.
Why do they not go to...... sleep... do do dooo

It was intrigued by the use of the computer generated singing on Light and Shade and it was great fun making it using Vocaloid - not completely easy but not too bad.  my two older children Findlay and Erika were playing about around me while i was trying to work out how vocaloid worked so i made something for them so they would laugh and then go to bed!!

@ Ray: thanks a lot, it's great. :D Not only the lines are very melodious, but you found a very nice way to get across the un-metrical "Erika". Congrats. :)

I don't have kids, but I thought this was amusing. I can imagine the young night-owls having a good laugh with Dad over it!
