Well, well, well... A moment before I clicked on this topic, as soon as I read the title, I was thinking: connect it to the damper hole. But I wasn't sure whether the Korg M1 had one, because I'm not familiar with that keyboard. But now that I've read your post I'm sure about this. You know, I've got a Roland VA-7 synth-arranger-keyboard, and when I needed a sustain pedal I bought one which was marketed as a 'damper pedal'; I connected it to my Roland's 'damper' input, it worked splendidly, it still does. So my advice is: don't waste your time browsin' through complicated technical manuals, just go ahead and plug your pedal's jack right into the damper hole. It'll work.
