The other night, after watching the news and feeling overwhelmed, i flipped through my MO collection, and decided ot find some uplifting, yet relaxing music to just sort of absorb and soak in.

And as i was lying down, Lake Constance came on, and it had such a wonderful effect on me. It's one of the most (if not THE most) soft, calm, and wonderful tracks i've ever heard from Mike Oldfield. I can picture a nice calm lake, surrounded by crisp, clean mountains. It was such a great feeling to hear such a soft yet awesome piece of music.

Totally agree - it's absolutely beautiful, probably in my top 10 Oldfield tracks of all time. I've long thought that he should compose a long orchestral work, after Lake Constance and Mont St.Michel. Lake Constance is exquisite, the violins sound so lush and the melody sounds like yearning, dreaming, aspiring, and seems tinted with nostalgia as well. Fantastic, what more can I say  :)
