Apple/EMI has released a de-Spectorized version of the historical album "Let it be" by the Beatles, i.e. the album as they meant it to be heard. I've already bought it and I must admit that it's 100,000 times better than the original release. :) If anyone else of you has bought it and/or listened to it, I'd like to know his/her opinion about it.

(JOKEY P.S.)
... and if EMI released this, maybe there's some hope that Warner may decide, one day, to release the Mike Oldfield CD most people would like to hear, i.e. the de-Trevorized Tubular Bells II. :D Hope, as we say down here, is always the last to die. :)

I'm sorry,i may be in the minority, but i have no problem whatsoever with Tubular Bell 2,be it Trever Horns invluence or not,it's weird that people go on about Mike maybe needing to Producer for his records, then when he gets one they all complain about that.I think Tubular Bells 2 is one of Mikes greatest albums, and it's an album i would play to convert someone to Mikes music, and i think i am right in saying it's his last number 1 album, and the live show was on radio 1 for god's sake.So what is the problem with what Trever Horn did anyway?

My comment about the de-Trevorized version of TBII was intended as a joke. I, just like you, do not belong to the group of people who care about what Trevor Horn did to TBII, I just love it as it is. But I know that there are some people who do care. :)

Speaking of which, has anybody else got that lot of Naked Let It Be tracks which have extra length and verbal babble at front and end of most tracks?  I'm interested in finding out more about where this lot comes from.

Pssh! Let's not mention naughty words on here, like "Tubular Bells II" and "Trevor Horn" - there might be children in the room!

All of the spoken bits in the 1970 album come from the rehearsal tapes. Sections of those tapes not used for the final master [AFAIK they never made a "master" formal recording of any of the songs, except the ones they performed as a concert-in-the-studio; all the others were recorded at the end of the rehearsals... :)] have been compiled in a 21-minute track, featured in a second (bonus) CD enclosed with the first. This CD features all the bits included in the original album, and more. ;)

Thanks Ugo, that's pretty much what I wanted to find out.  I bought the commercial release as well, so I'll check my "rehearsal" tracks and see if I can hear the various chatter bits in the Fly on the Wall CD.  :)
