Thanks for the post - one of my favorite tracks off one of my top 5 MO albums.

This and Sentinel are my favourite MO videos... too bad neither of them are on an official DVD yet.

TSODE really seems to have inspired some of Mr O's best videos - this is one of the best, I think. Some of the images don't work: the bicycles in the surf, as simply surreal, are out of place in a work that is simply about the future. Also, the video lacks the sense of flowing continuity that you get with the one for "Song of the Boatman" - still the best MO video, in my opinion.

Those poor souls who think visual imagery can add nothing to music are deluding themselves - the very existence of opera is predicated on the assumption that this is possible.

The video was shot in Los Angeles in 1995 and was directed by Howard Greenhalgh.

In the over 16-year span of his career, Howard has directed over 100 music videos. His credits include Sting, George Michael, System of a Down, Placebo and Pet Shop Boys. Perhaps his most famous and iconic music video to date is Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun."

IN 1996 he won an award for "Let There Be Light" (Viewers Choice Award, & Best Artistic Film) at the 9th Computer Animation Festival.

The video has a lot going for it, but it's too unstructured to deserve a prize. Mike should have done the job himself.

In order to link the two topics I have found on this forum that both cover a similar subject I am placing a shortcut here:-

I hope this is of help to those who are interested in this video!.

Dear Readers I am interested in the imagery in this video and particularly in finding out what the CODEING is that appears at the beginning of the video on the lower right hand side of the screen.  It almost looks like hieroglyphics, so If anyone has a high definition version of this and could take some Screen captures or screen prints (PrtSc) at the different times that these (letters/numerals/symbols or what ever they are) when they appear, in which the graphics are clear it would be most helpful.

Could "I CHING" be what it is?:-

The following is a video that I found on the making of the video in which Mike talks us through it's creation:-

(Note,  I now find that this video is already linked on this forum thanks to the member Tati the Sentinel, I hope all will understand why I felt it would be good to have the two together)

Readers please note there are better quality versions of this in other video sites such as Google videos etc.
