This was posted on another forum I'm a member of - thought you might enjoy! Apologies to those who've seen it before!

Tony :)

HOW MANY FORUM GROUP MEMBERS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHTBULB?

1 to change the light bulb but, after posting that light bulb...

* 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

* 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

* 27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

* 53 to flame the spell checkers.

* 41 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

* 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive.

* 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

* 27 to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

* 14 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URLs.

* 12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

* 4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.

* 44 to ask what is a "FAQ"?

* 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

* 143 to say, "Do a Google search on light bulbs."

* 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Going back quite a few years into the forum's past, we have a  personalised version of this. I'd guess only a few people posting here now actually remember most of the people mentioned in it, though...

I think I'm getting old ;)

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

Only one but the light bulb has to REALLY want to change.

How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb?

One to hold the light bulb and six to get drunk and make the room spin around.

.... and one person to point out (with only marginal relevance) that Bob Dylan once offered the following advice: 'Keep a cool head, and always carry a light bulb'.

Brilliant :)

To imafoolandimlaughing thankyou for this, really made me laugh today. Good not to take things here too seriously, although I like that also.

The list could go on and on and on!

Mike's next album could possibly be called Lightbulb & Lampshade? ;)

I can do it single handedly with my exciting new development of the screw-fit bulb. Yes, Korgscrew lightbulbs, available from all enlightened retailers! Order them now while stocks still have someone in them to throw your mouldy fruit at (hey, why are you looking at me so funny? Don't you keep lightbulbs in the fruit bowl too? They're not called Glühbirnen for nothing...and as we all know, Glühwein is made from their juice).

Talking of fruit, I think I may have gone bananas. Don't mind me...

"plus.... Screwbular Bulbs!"

(followed by a few measures of smashing glass sounds as the mallet smashes all the bulbs. All in all, however, an interesting album with guest musicians Philip Glass and the Electric Light Orchestra).

Its funny reading back over all those years, whatever happened to TimHighfield, Bennyboy, Liron etc? People used to have mad arguments with Liron if I remember rightly, ahh those were the days. They don't make em like they used to   ;) (light bulbs that is)
