I'm quite happy with these songs! They were recorded on the cheap with a basic condenser mike and a PC in my apartment (and with my then very basic engineering skills).

Early Mike is definately an influence (among my others of course)

Any feedback is appreciated!

Lovely.

(Your voice reminds me of Al Stewart.)

Very good. The voice reminded me more of a cross between Art Garfunkel and a mellow Roger Waters (eg "Watching TV"). Incidentally, there's a Mike Batt track called "Winds of Change". And "Lost in the Woods" is almost a Syd Barrett (Pink Floyd) quote: you'll find "Isn't it good to be lost in the wood" on his "Octopus" song.

Thanks Wiga & Nightspore!
I have never heard Al Stewart but I'm going to have to check him out.
I have heard the the Art Garfunkel comparision has before, which I think is a complement, but I have never listened actively to S&G (apart from the obvious radio hits).

Lost in the Woods is a conscious Syd Barrett quote, but it also has relevance to events from my childhood.
Winds of Change is also a terrible Scorpions song, but I realized that far too late!

Lars - Al Stewart's most famous song is Year of the Cat. His melodies are quite haunting too.

...I also hear a bit of Empire of the Sun in your voice. They're a unique and up coming new band - Australian.

Lars - these two songs of yours though are VERY unique!! Good enough to be in the charts.  :)

Bravo Lars.
On the first song Nightspores Waters comparison is spot on good song.
Track Two Summertime is F**king awesome I usually dont like most stuff on the first listen but this got me.
Maybe its the traditional feel/melody I mean it just works.
Whats the story behind this One?
And yes the gartfunkinel   comparison I can see except that this is really really good.
I'm playing it now for the third time straight it just resonates with me .
Needs more drums though (sorry I say this about everything :D ).
You can hear the almighty Mike influence too.
10/10

I bow to all the praise!  :)

Drums: I didn't think programmed percussion suited the tracks and I didn't own a drumkit, just two bongos and a tambourine (as heard on "Down in the Valley").

The story behind "Summertime":
A mix between the Gershwin track and this:

Thanks again! You inspire me to take this project further!

I'm quite fond of "Time Passages", which was a hit in Australia years ago (I'm not sure if it was anywhere else). Unfortunately, and as usual, I associate it with a sad time in my life and can't listen to it now.

:/ I don't know Nightspore - what we going to do with you. :)

What about this one, I like this by Al Stewart - Life in Dark Water.

Just be your usual self, Wiga! :)

I own the album - my other favourite is "A Man for All Seasons". Stewart's time songs I find particularly interesting. They incline towards what in known in philosophy as the "block theory", which roughly means that all moments in time are equally real. (Einstein's special relativity is compatible with this view).

Lars, I've been a fan of your Lost in the Woods album for a while now and have never really had the chance to mention it. Really cool (I was listening to it with a friend in his car just last week). I need to check out your other stuff, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
