I thought this was another 'chill out' kind of album. The first picture looks anything but chill out! Made me think of Shadow On the Wall actually!! :p

I think that #3 refers to "2001, A Space Odyssey", isn't it ?

Probably a pair of rather cumbersome headphones, or some high-tech 3D projector. It does conjure up images of 2001 though

"I'm sorry Mike, I can't let you put the album in jeopardy"

Considering Mike's latest hobby, I'd vote for a motorbike helmet, with the computer screen reflected in the visor...

Mike on a Kawasaki with hallucinogenic speed cameras reflecting on his extremely naff helmet?

Some-one working out "picture-it" on XP for the first time?

"that's it, hand on chin, thank you, now back to class!"

Kawasaki nope...but a Yamaha Fazer 600!

The helmet...well,don't like for safety reasons.

I think #4 is the most flattering, and it manages to incorporate a Maestro theme, which is good.

#2 isn't too bad either, though I think it could have benefitted from the use of a reflector or a second light source just to lift the shadows around the eyes and place a small 'catchlight' in them - as it is, I find they're a bit flat. I like the general use of shadow to create mood, though.

He doesn't look happy in #1! Used as the picture on the mikeoldfield.com main page, it rather seems to say "Get off my website!" ;) I think it would work a lot better in black and white, it would suit the mood better and look rather more classy, I feel.

I do like the allusions to 2001 with the motorcycle helmet in #3 - I thought that one was quite funny.

About pic #2 - it's really my fav one, although the light is not that good. That one should be the one to use on the main page of MO.com.

Pic #1 - really don't like it as the main pic on the MO.com's front page.Mike looks bored and he should have done a much interesting pose,to invite people to come discover his webbie!

Well,I'd love to see more new pics of Mike in some sections I think it needs some pics...
;)

:D he doesn't seem to look happy in any of them!  Then again, I get the impression he doesn't like having his picture taken anyway

Yes indeed it does look like someone is punching his chin. Tell you what though, dull as these portraits are they are still way better than the TB2003 promo shots. But why oh why is he using that first shot? Talk about looking pissed off with everything. Is this supposed to reflect something internaly Mike. Cheer up, you've just put together a new website and brought a new game out, things are supposed to be looking up.

ps His look in that first shot is uncanily simmilar to the one I had on my face when a found I couldn't play TB2003 ;)
