I just found this out on another site, 2 days late. Majel Barrett has died. Why is it I only get the news on the internet? I guess she's with Gene now. Man, we lost George Carlin this year and Richard Wright, Pekka Pohjola, now Majel Barrett Roddenberry. Special note to the crew: no further deaths are allowed until 1-1-2009 without written permission. I'll remember her for her best performance. It was a ST-TNG episode called "Half A Life" where she fell in love with David Ogden Stiers(from Mash) who played a man from a planet where everyone was expected to commit suicide at age 60(also his best performance). RIP Majel.
Jim

I'm not fond of Star Trek, but I watched Majel's Earth: Final Conflict, which, for those who haven't seen it, has exceptional theme music. It has a kind of wistful sinuosity about it, no doubt appealing to many MO fans.

I agree. I think she was hot back then. No question.

I really canot relate to liking star trek.  There was a few older epidodes I liked and that was it.  Shame about the death of the cast though. :/

Further to what Jim said, "Half A Life" was OUTSTANDING.  Also "Dark Page".

She was a dear one.

Oh she was hilarious and delightful in next generation. I do not know her from the first series.
Sad day.....
