Majel Barrett has died. Why is it I only get the news on the internet? I guess she's with Gene now. Man, we lost George Carlin this year and Richard Wright, Pekka Pohjola, now Majel Barrett Roddenberry. Special note to the crew: no further deaths are allowed until 1-1-2009 without written permission. I'll remember her for her best performance. It was a ST-TNG episode called "Half A Life" where she fell in love with David Ogden Stiers(from Mash) who played a man from a planet where everyone was expected to commit suicide at age 60(also his best performance). It has a kind of wistful sinuosity about it, no doubt appealing to many MO fans. Back to top
